Problem: Recordings keep failing. Sometimes when I record a programme, I get an error message and I lose the recording.

Solution 1:
Recordings fail for a number of reasons. If you schedule the recording and it records - but records the wrong thing - the box might be tuned to two different regions. Reset the channels and manually tune them if you suspect this to be the case. If the unit is on a series record but has missed the programme, check the programme guide to see if future episodes are being recorded. It may have identified the programme as a different series for some reason, so set a series link on any future episodes that are not being recorded.
Other failed recordings can show a problem with the unit. One or two failed recordings do not necessarily mean that your unit has a fault - it could be due to a power cut or your box could have (unluckily!) frozen or crashed prior to the start of the programme.
However, if there are numerous failed recordings and it continues to occur even though you can watch TV OK, it sounds like a problem with the hard disk and this will need to be either repaired or replaced. 0 out of 0 people found this solution helpful.
Problem: My T1010 is 6 months old and up to now has been OK. I normally leave it in high eco mode. Today, it won't get past 'nearly ready' and the 'please wait' has disappeared from front panel. Can't be solved by switching off etc. Would going into maintenance mode help? If so, how do you do that on a T1010? The Humax internet instructions are only for the 1000 model. Are the power symbol and the round circle on the front panel supposed to react to fingers? Thanks

Solution 1:
Touch power on and as soon as central led turns on touch and keep touching vol - which is 9 o'clock on central control (led on 1010 is bluey/white not orange)
Once enter maintenance mode yes/no appears touch power again and wait. 3 out of 4 people found this solution helpful.
Problem: The unit has just frozen up. It keeps freezing and then shutting itself down.

Solution 1:
It can be extremely frustrating when this happens. Most of the time, there isn't much you can do other than turn it off and then on again, at the mains if the power button isn't responding.
However, there are a few things you can check to help prevent it in the future. Number one is check how hot it is. Freezing can happen when the unit isn't properly ventilated or is in a hot place. Make sure all the vents are uncovered and there is nothing on top of it. You might also want to check for system updates. Finally, you might consider turning the unit off and then on again regularly to reboot it. Freezing often occurs when it has been running for a long time, so once a week or so you could try to reboot it by switching it off and on. If you don't want to do this yourself, you might consider buying a timer switch to do this for you at a time you know you won't be using the machine, e.g. 4AM. 0 out of 0 people found this solution helpful.

Problem: Hi, My DTR-1010 is about 4 or 5 years old and just like my previous Humax PVR it has started to respond to commands very slowly, taking several seconds to react to simple command like lower the volume or delete a recording. It has the latest update which now shows a graphical interface rather than the original list style interface. It states that the disc is 86% free even though I have tens of hours of recordings stored on it. Can you suggest a cure? Thanks, Ken.
Problem: Unit 3 years old, little used. On switch-on last week, Update notified, accepted and completed in a couple of seconds. Unusually quick. On re-booting, Humax booted, YouView booting dropped out and left blank screen with message 'Unknown route: setup'. Repeated presses of 'Standby' brings up screen with menus, but Programme Guide doesn't respond to remote. Cannot seem to access Maintenance menu at any point. Is this the end?
Problem: Have had the same problem of nearly ready screen being stuck. Tried switching on and off but now the central light will not come on so it is not possible to access the maintenance procedures. The box has been tested twice by the supplier Richer Sounds who say it is working fine but it is not!
Problem: My DTR-T1010 is 2.5 years old and has been fine til now. It began to give intermittent sound and sometimes turned the screen a shade of pink. I tried routing the HDMI cable to another port on my TV, but it was the same. Now it has stopped giving a signal altogether through the hdmi port and only gets a signal through the scart lead.
Problem: Humax. I have this same problem with my 500gb DTR-T1010
Hibought this(03-11-130 as a replacement for my problematic 1000 box, It has been fine till the last couple of days, when the message, (signal lost or weak)came up My signal is fine as bt vision box works okay, when switched on.Resetting and also power off/on cures the problem for a short time. when the box has been left on standby the problem returns, I will try the maintenance mode when I can find out how to do it,I have emailed humax about the problem, but as of yet no reply
Problem: We have a Humax DTR-T1010 G500, it is 2 or 3 years old. It has been slow to boot up recently but now it does not start at all. The power light comes on, on the front, but it goes no further than that. None of the buttons work and no signal is received by the TV. I have rebooted it a few time and switched off the power for a day. Could you tell me what I can do to get it working? Thanks,
- I have exactly the same problem on the same model and have tried everything, turn off take out all cables reconnect couldn't get the maintance mode to work either. has any one found a solution that work?

Problem: Hi we have had a humux dtr-T1010 for 10 months and the remote control doesn't operate the unit anymore. John Lewis, the seller, got us to do various tests, and the result was that the remote control is still working but the reciever in the unit may be faulty. Humux have accepted this and they want to send a new unit but all the films and shows we have recorded will be lost. Is there a way of mending the unit say by resetting it? or if we have to return the unit first, can we save the recordings using a usb stick?
Problem: I am on my fourth unit due to recording failures. Humax now tell me that my problem is that there are four transmitters in Yorkshire and that because Youview does not provide a manual tuning function, the signals conflict. Has anybody else had this problem?
Problem: Box keeps rebooting itself. It's only a couple of months old. In settings it says the software's up to date and no new versions are available. A similar problem seems to occur with the T1000 box.
