The unit has just frozen up. It keeps freezing and then shutting itself down.

Picture keeps stuttering and is blocky and pixellated.

Hi There

I have a Humax HDRfreesat box which I have had for 4-5yrs without problem. Recently
the remote control has ceased to operate successfully channel changing is next to none existant volume up and down is none existant. can you help.

THANK YOU
DAVE BUTCHER

Have a Humax Foxsat-HDR, which should record whilst watching another programme or least allow me to search for another programme, but all it says is "1 lnb short" even though there is two put into the machine, have double checked this and have tried to factory re-set, but it says it is only registering 1 lnb - what is the problem, all help happily accepted.

4 year old humax freesat foxsat has lost all control for recording and fast forward and reverse and can not access recoded programmes.Works like a normal tv now and takes a while to boot up after a lot of clicking and message not formatted

My Foxsat HDR turns itself on at the same time each day although no recording is programmed. Always to the same channel, BBC 1 HD at about 5 pm. I have searched through all menus, but can find no reason for this. Any bright ideas as to Why? Thanks.

Have a foxsat-hdr for years with no problems. However the information display is stuck on yesterday's programmes. Example: BBC 2 is showing winter Olympics at 8.37, but the blue information display shows Nigel Slater's middle East 16.00 - 17.00. The date and time are displaying correctly beside the clock, but programme info is stuck at about 16.00 on the previous day. It is the same for all channels - frozen in time. I cannot record anything either. I have factory reset twice, free sat re-tuned twice, disconneted and powered on and off. Nothing works - the dispaly is permanently showing the same past programmes all around the same times of 13.00 to 14.00 on the previous day. Any ideas?

Recordings keep failing. Sometimes when I record a programme, I get an error message and I lose the recording.

Our Humax foxsat has been fine for several years, however, yesterday we lost reception and a message came on screen saying "No or bad signal".I blamed the weather and left it till today and checked all cables and connections but got the same message. The menu would appear, but no programme details so not connecting with dish.I turned it all off and now it wont restart at all!Fuse ok,socket ok,all cables and connections ok.Before I take it apart and conduct a[probably fruitless]investigation, has anyone got any ideas?
TV workingfine on free veiw so all points to sat box dying!

FREESTAT IS STUK ON THE TV IT TELLS ME TO PRESS THE YELLOW BUTTON BUT WHEN I TRY TO IT WILL NOT LET ME

I cannot receive ITV HD on chanel 111 (no signal
Have retuned several times and ITV HD is on the list, but no signal.

My epg seems fine when going into guide, but pressing ok won't take me to the channel, it just asks if I want to record or watch. When watching a channel if I press information for programme details it seems to be stuck in the past! (Previous afternoon). Scheduled recordings don't record. It's as if the epg is stuck in the past even tho it shows ok in the guide. I've done a re-tune and also factory reset, but it's still the same. Can anybody help please?

I am having issues with recordings which are failing. On investigation when I select the 'i' button on the remote, it shows the correct time and date at the top of the display but the program details are frozen on a program and time slot from a previous day.

My Foxsat HDR has Bootproblems.
It will not boot every time you turn it on. I guess that the harddrive is knackered.
Is it possible to exchange this HD with another one?
And how should I go about that.
What sort of system is the box working with ? Linux-type?

I have several HD's on the shelf that could take the place. It's just that the replacementdisk should be "cloned" first, I guess.

Delay when pausing, starting and changing programs

The media list shows that a proportion of the disk is used, but it not displaying any of the stored programmes in the list - nothing shows at all when normally all the recordings can be seen in the list.

will not record or pause

Solution 1: It can be extremely frustrating when this happens. Most of the time, there isn't much you can do other than turn it off and then on again, at the mains if the power button isn't responding.

However, there are a few things you can check to help prevent it in the future. Number one is check how hot it is. Freezing can happen when the unit isn't properly ventilated or is in a hot place. Make sure all the vents are uncovered and there is nothing on top of it.
You might also want to check for system updates.
Finally, you might consider turning the unit off and then on again regularly to reboot it. Freezing often occurs when it has been running for a long time, so once a week or so you could try to reboot it by switching it off and on. If you don't want to do this yourself, you might consider buying a timer switch to do this for you at a time you know you won't be using the machine, e.g. 4AM.

Solution 1: I had this with my humax fox t2 so I used a plectrum (guitar accessory) to open the 2 halves of my remote and cleaned all the contacts with an alcohol solution, it now works perfectly. Try it.

Solution 1: The hard drive is faulty, but rather than spend money on a new one, I recovered the 500gb hard drive out of my redundant sky box and fitted it in my humax box.It works a treat and thanks to the videos on google telling you how to remove hdd out of sky box and humax video doing same thing

Solution 1: In the menu you can set it to turn on and off at set times so someone has probably done that...

- I have exactly the same problem. Today is Feb 11th 2018! and our information button is stuck about 4pm yesterday ie Sat 10th Feb. If you post is a recent post, then the problem is not us, but the system. Two other posters also seem to have the same problem.

- I have the same problem too! Does anyone have info that its system problem/reason/solution suggested??? I have tried reset etc to no avail!! At least it seems its system rather than my box has died!!lol

- Same problem here and the count is slowly rising. It might be a coincidence but problems started yesterday (10th Feb 2018) with the Winter Olympics, possibly due to red button options for watching different events?

- I have fixed it but dot really know how. I set something to a timed recording. When it was supposed to start recording i went to that channel and then pressed the i button once to show the current programme information window. Then after a moment the recording icon began to show at the top left of the screen and the timed recording began (although half way through). Now all seems to be working fine :-)

- I too have this problem or should I say had. I had done multi resets and button tests but it refused to do timed recordings and the info screen was set at between 4 & 6pm yesterday Sat 10th.
Searching for others brought me here as I believe its an epg update problem that once identified will get cleared by a software over air correction.
Looks like they already did the correction as mine seems now able once more to do timed recordings and the info time is correct.
I would have liked to believe the page button theory but I for one would have seen the red light on the remote pvr flashing if the page or any button was stuck down but thanks anyway. My Foxsat HDR has been very reliable apart from one other over air update that messed with stuff, but that was years ago.
The only gripe is the remote being unresponsive but a look on youtube shows how to strip down, clean and reassemble which seems to get it working better than new!

Solution 1: I Have exactly the same problem as the other 3 messages on here. Have retuned, switched on and off to make no improvement.
My recordings are failing.
But can manually record!!

Solution 2: After further googling around, I realised that the problem was likely with the remote and I was just about to take it apart to clean it, when I thought I would just try pulling out the PAGE button - and yes, it had got stuck! Now it is reading in real time and hopefully I'll be able to record. Phew!

Solution 5: Morning. Same problem, but seem to have fixed by going to LIST, then SCHEDULE. That brings up the EPG and can programme a recording via that. Once it started recording, all the programme info came back into sync.
Whether it was this or an EPG update, don't know, but it's working now. We were on the point of going to buy a new one ... !

- I have exactly the same issue. I have factory reset a number of times. It allows me to set a timed recording but it simply ignores it. I don't believe it is just a coincidence that 6 of us have had hard drives fail simultaneously. Sorry I am m=not much more help if anyone can suggest a helpline maybe?
Helpful: 0/0     Do you think this comment was helpful?

Solution 1: Recordings fail for a number of reasons. If you schedule the recording and it records - but records the wrong thing - the box might be tuned to two different regions. Reset the channels and manually tune them if you suspect this to be the case.
If the unit is on a series record but has missed the programme, check the programme guide to see if future episodes are being recorded. It may have identified the programme as a different series for some reason, so set a series link on any future episodes that are not being recorded.

Other failed recordings can show a problem with the unit. One or two failed recordings do not necessarily mean that your unit has a fault - it could be due to a power cut or your box could have (unluckily!) frozen or crashed prior to the start of the programme.

However, if there are numerous failed recordings and it continues to occur even though you can watch TV OK, it sounds like a problem with the hard disk and this will need to be either repaired or replaced.
