The red light on box stays on permanently. When I press Guide the HDD icon seems to show "full" but then the guide informs me that I have 115 hours of recording left. I have cleared all old recordings. It allows me to record and shows that I am recording but the Guide does not show the usual recording in progress. The function mode shows there is inadequate space. They are contradictions. I read the forum which suggested switching on and off and leaving for a few hours but this has made no difference. What is the problem, please?

I have this player and today for no reason every disc is now coming up as 'disc incompatible' when I try to play them??

Any ideas what this could be?

When playing back recorded programmes, the picture is so dark it is almost impossible to see. Is there a way of lightening the picture?

Everytime I switch on the DVD the "New programmes found" box comes up. Annoying. Any solution?

trouble shoot panasonic dmr 530 blu ray player hdd recorder sound but picture using hdi cable. Please help

I live near Crystal Palace (6m) so the signal quality is superb. I have a new (as of Dec 2013) Panasonic Viera TV and I get all the Freeview channels with no pixellation or stuttering.

I acquired a PWT530EB in May and after initial tuning I did not have all the channels. Everytime I switched it on, it found new channels but previously working channels stopped working. I received a replacement unit today and am finding that it will only tune in 28 channels. BBC channels are missing. Looks like Channels 25 and 26 are fine bit channels 22, 23 (BBC channels), 28-29 and HD channels (30+) are not being tuned. I have tried this several times now, resetting the unit each time. The TV is fine and has no issues so I know it is not the Aerial or cable.

Can anyone assist? I have contacted Panasonic but they were pretty useless.

Have had the machine for about 3 months, everything fine until a few days ago when programmes have not been recorded- the red record button keeps flashing while it should be recording but nothing actually is recorded

jagged words on the subtitles on retail dvd's

Problem: The unit has just frozen up. It keeps freezing and then shutting itself down.

There are 0 comments on this problem.

Solution 1: It can be extremely frustrating when this happens. Most of the time, there isn't much you can do other than turn it off and then on again, at the mains if the power button isn't responding.

However, there are a few things you can check to help prevent it in the future. Number one is check how hot it is. Freezing can happen when the unit isn't properly ventilated or is in a hot place. Make sure all the vents are uncovered and there is nothing on top of it.
You might also want to check for system updates.
Finally, you might consider turning the unit off and then on again regularly to reboot it. Freezing often occurs when it has been running for a long time, so once a week or so you could try to reboot it by switching it off and on. If you don't want to do this yourself, you might consider buying a timer switch to do this for you at a time you know you won't be using the machine, e.g. 4AM.

Problem: Recordings keep failing. Sometimes when I record a programme, I get an error message and I lose the recording.

There are 0 comments on this problem.

Solution 1: Recordings fail for a number of reasons. If you schedule the recording and it records - but records the wrong thing - the box might be tuned to two different regions. Reset the channels and manually tune them if you suspect this to be the case.
If the unit is on a series record but has missed the programme, check the programme guide to see if future episodes are being recorded. It may have identified the programme as a different series for some reason, so set a series link on any future episodes that are not being recorded.

Other failed recordings can show a problem with the unit. One or two failed recordings do not necessarily mean that your unit has a fault - it could be due to a power cut or your box could have (unluckily!) frozen or crashed prior to the start of the programme.

However, if there are numerous failed recordings and it continues to occur even though you can watch TV OK, it sounds like a problem with the hard disk and this will need to be either repaired or replaced.

Problem: just bought today. signal is fine when direct to tv. it loses signal when via box

Solution 1: we bought an inline aerial amp for use indoors £10 or less, because loop thro from set top boxes dilutes signal strength (db loss)
ie signal via rooftop aerial
