How do you adjust screen colours

When turning from freeview to HD I sometimes have no sound turning back to freeview the sound is there - every time I go to HD there is no sound.
this doesn't happen every time just perhaps three times a month.

If my Humax HRD-2000T is recording a programme while on standby I can't switch it on until the recording has finished. I can record from a different channel to the one I'm watching if it starts recording after I have turned on.

After working perfectly for.a couple of years, box is playing up. Recordings are stopping after about 15 minutes sometimes longer into recording and in the last couple of nights recording have overrun by about an hour - it differs. There is no clash with other programmes being recorded. Software is up to date and I carried out a factory reset, saving stored programmes but no difference. Any help greatly appreciated.

Unit is usually very reliable but has developed a habit of switching-on from standby and producing picture but NO SOUND. Switching off and re-starting usually fixes the problem but cannot be done when the unit is already recording something. Have asked on the telephone for a fix and been given a change to the actual TV, but neither of my sets (both recent 32" Samsung models) have the program to change. Have checked with Samsung and they agree that there is no set-up as suggested by Humax help desk. Have tried alternative HDMI slots and different cables, no difference. LEN HARRISS - TAUNTON.

I only receive a few TV channels ? I have retuned several times but without any change. Help!!

When I record programme it doesn't always get the ending

Hi when I sroll down when I am on the set top box, often the programme I am watching comes up in the screen in a different format does not cover the screen, more like a square.I am sure there is something I can do on settings, please help.

H1, Can anyone tell me what is the standby colour at the front of the unit red or blue?

Problem: Recordings keep failing. Sometimes when I record a programme, I get an error message and I lose the recording.

There are 0 comments on this problem.

Solution 1: Recordings fail for a number of reasons. If you schedule the recording and it records - but records the wrong thing - the box might be tuned to two different regions. Reset the channels and manually tune them if you suspect this to be the case.
If the unit is on a series record but has missed the programme, check the programme guide to see if future episodes are being recorded. It may have identified the programme as a different series for some reason, so set a series link on any future episodes that are not being recorded.

Other failed recordings can show a problem with the unit. One or two failed recordings do not necessarily mean that your unit has a fault - it could be due to a power cut or your box could have (unluckily!) frozen or crashed prior to the start of the programme.

However, if there are numerous failed recordings and it continues to occur even though you can watch TV OK, it sounds like a problem with the hard disk and this will need to be either repaired or replaced.

Problem: No loop-through amplification means I have to keep pvr powered up to watch television.
Have been told there is a way of connecting to antenna to enable watching t.v. without power to p.v.r.
Is this true . How is it done ?.

Solution 1: I think that it is the fact that the unit DOES have loop through amplification that this problem arises, as when the unit is powered off, the internal loop through amp or buffer circuit is also powered off. My fix is to use an aerial splitter at the wall aerial outlet socket. Feed the TV directly from one of the splitter outputs and the PVR from the other, thereby avoiding the use of loop through. I am happy to provide more info if you wish.

Regards

Tim

Problem: After months of perfect use today the 'media' button refuses to bring up my lists of recorded programmes.
Everything else works
HELP!

- Update on solution 3: It turns out that this situation is not as terminal as I originally thought. It looks like something as simple as cutting power to the box (NOT just putting it into standby) is enough to make it lose contact with the disk - though this is clearly not fatal.

The disk can be reconnected by triggering a SCHEDULED recording (pressing the record button does not work). As soon as the scheduled recording starts, you'll find that the Media button is working again.

Solution 3: I've just had the same problem on mine. As far as I can make out, this is a symptom of the hard drive becoming inaccessible. This diagnosis is supported by:
a) Go to Menu>Music and look at the HDD icon at top right - it says HDD unavailable
b) Go to Menu>Settings>System - Data Storage is greyed out.

This does not necessarily mean that the drive itself has failed (it could be something on the main circuit board) - you might be able to recover recorded programs by connecting the drive to a PC.

Unfortunately, this is pretty terminal, unless you're prepared to open up the unit and try replacing the drive.

Problem: The unit has just frozen up. It keeps freezing and then shutting itself down.

There are 0 comments on this problem.

Solution 1: It can be extremely frustrating when this happens. Most of the time, there isn't much you can do other than turn it off and then on again, at the mains if the power button isn't responding.

However, there are a few things you can check to help prevent it in the future. Number one is check how hot it is. Freezing can happen when the unit isn't properly ventilated or is in a hot place. Make sure all the vents are uncovered and there is nothing on top of it.
You might also want to check for system updates.
Finally, you might consider turning the unit off and then on again regularly to reboot it. Freezing often occurs when it has been running for a long time, so once a week or so you could try to reboot it by switching it off and on. If you don't want to do this yourself, you might consider buying a timer switch to do this for you at a time you know you won't be using the machine, e.g. 4AM.
