When I press the EPG button the programmes displayed only go from 700 to 804. I can only therefore record programmes in advance by using the Timers option, which, apart from being a slower method, results in the programmes coming up in the Recordings Library with just the channel and the date - no programme title or info.

Pic is not bright enough
The box will not switch on. Completely dead. Bought as new from trader on eBay but just out of month's warranty!
Tried pulling plug out and restarting buy still dead, though the plug gets warm. Any ideas?
This is the second box I have purchased, its given me a message saying that the hard drive has been disabled, how do I enable this as I cannot find anything on remote control.
My Hitachi HDR10T01 is not picking up all channels that should be available. Have retuned but no success. Mainly 20 30 61 channels and some others.
I keep getting a message;CANNOT SCHEDULE RECORDING,THERE IS ALREADY A TIMER AT THE SAME TIME ON THIS CHANNEL and then the box jams.Please advise.
When switching on/off it takes a considerable amount of time for the box to boot up or shut down.
I've tried reinstalling channels,I've tried to update software, what an age that takes.
I've disabled the Auto shut down, tried seeing if there was dust in the works, and also made sure that all of the vents are clear. I've tried all these as today it was hot.
When I switch on I occassionally see INIT which I presume it means initialising. On switching off there is another long wait before the time comes on and then a longer time before it goes into standby mode, red light comes on.
After viewing for a while the voice synch is lost so the sound fails to keep up with the picture being viewed.
I have no timers or recordings listed on the respective screens. The bar on the recordings screen shows disc as empty, the one on timer screen says space is used. If I go into Media Library screen is says 422gb of 466gb is free. I've performed multiple disc formats from the Installion menu and have tried several First Time Installion just after reformatting the disc, but nothing works. I've even left it unplugged from the mains for a couple of hours, but nothing. Any ideas?
Cannot turn on or off constant gene light with no function at all. Disconnected and reconnected. Just goes straight to green light. Disc is 50 % full. Stopped recording series beforehand. Any suggestions?

Solution 1: Have solved this by doing a first-time installation - menu, settings (the spanner icon),installation then first time installation.
