Problem: Recordings keep failing. Sometimes when I record a programme, I get an error message and I lose the recording.

Solution 1:
Recordings fail for a number of reasons. If you schedule the recording and it records - but records the wrong thing - the box might be tuned to two different regions. Reset the channels and manually tune them if you suspect this to be the case. If the unit is on a series record but has missed the programme, check the programme guide to see if future episodes are being recorded. It may have identified the programme as a different series for some reason, so set a series link on any future episodes that are not being recorded.
Other failed recordings can show a problem with the unit. One or two failed recordings do not necessarily mean that your unit has a fault - it could be due to a power cut or your box could have (unluckily!) frozen or crashed prior to the start of the programme.
However, if there are numerous failed recordings and it continues to occur even though you can watch TV OK, it sounds like a problem with the hard disk and this will need to be either repaired or replaced. 0 out of 0 people found this solution helpful.
Problem: My T1010 is 6 months old and up to now has been OK. I normally leave it in high eco mode. Today, it won't get past 'nearly ready' and the 'please wait' has disappeared from front panel. Can't be solved by switching off etc. Would going into maintenance mode help? If so, how do you do that on a T1010? The Humax internet instructions are only for the 1000 model. Are the power symbol and the round circle on the front panel supposed to react to fingers? Thanks

Solution 1:
Touch power on and as soon as central led turns on touch and keep touching vol - which is 9 o'clock on central control (led on 1010 is bluey/white not orange)
Once enter maintenance mode yes/no appears touch power again and wait. 3 out of 4 people found this solution helpful.
Problem: The unit has just frozen up. It keeps freezing and then shutting itself down.

Solution 1:
It can be extremely frustrating when this happens. Most of the time, there isn't much you can do other than turn it off and then on again, at the mains if the power button isn't responding.
However, there are a few things you can check to help prevent it in the future. Number one is check how hot it is. Freezing can happen when the unit isn't properly ventilated or is in a hot place. Make sure all the vents are uncovered and there is nothing on top of it. You might also want to check for system updates. Finally, you might consider turning the unit off and then on again regularly to reboot it. Freezing often occurs when it has been running for a long time, so once a week or so you could try to reboot it by switching it off and on. If you don't want to do this yourself, you might consider buying a timer switch to do this for you at a time you know you won't be using the machine, e.g. 4AM. 0 out of 0 people found this solution helpful.

Stuck on Nearly ready
Problem: My Humax DTR T1010 1TB has stopped working. Boots up and then says Nearly Ready, Screen goes fuzzy then back to Nearly Ready then nothing.
Switched off and waited at least 12 hours then switched on again. Also just on and off after a few minutes.
Tried on Scart and HDMI same result.
Seems someone else is having the same problem...... see below

Problem: Hi bought this(03-11-130 as a replacement for my problematic 1000 box, It has been fine till the last couple of days, when the message, (signal lost or weak)came up My signal is fine as bt vision box works okay, when switched on.Resetting and also power off/on cures the problem for a short time. when the box has been left on standby the problem returns, I will try the maintenance mode when I can find out how to do it, I have emailed humax about the problem, but as of yet no reply
Problem: Just bought a new humax dtr 1010 1tb, plugged in and will not pick up hd channels at. Signal strength and quality is zero cannot understand as my old humax box had no problems at all. I have tried retuning several times and now shows on guide but still no picture at all. Think this box is crap and I am very disappointed have always loved their products before, any ideas? Please help.
Problem: New t1010 A grade from Humax. Originally installed OK, then tried to change channel and it froze. 2 days later after several attempts I managed to finish a maintenance routine, and it appeared to work. I changed the setup to start faster, which seems to keep the hard disk running, and it all worked until I tried turning it on the following morning. I got the first channel with a large green stripe across, then it crashed. I tried all 5 maintenance possibilities several times and it would only restart in maintenace mode. It seems to be caused by overheating, it stands on a glass shelf with space all round and nothing on top, and crashes when I try to change channel. After some time I restarted it from the mains switch and was able to download an "update " for the first time. I am connected by wifi. The device information tells me it is a T1000 and has had no update. Running Ver A7.76. I am thinking I should get Humax to send one that works .
